Family • Creativity • Halloween
Knotted Woods Productions began as a family Halloween project and has grown into an annual creative build combining classic Halloween atmosphere with DIY props, lighting, sound, and technology.
Created and built by Jason Sojka, Knotted Woods started with a simple idea: create something fun for Halloween that the family and neighborhood could enjoy together.
Over the years, the displays have grown, themes have changed, and new technology has become part of the experience—but the goal has stayed the same: create a memorable, family-friendly Halloween experience for the community.
Build It
Props, scenery, graveyard elements, and other Halloween ideas are designed, built, modified, and reused from year to year.
Bring It to Life
Lighting, sound, controllers, xLights, and other technology help transform the yard and bring each year's ideas to life.
Share It
The final goal isn't just building things—it's creating a fun Halloween experience that local families can enjoy together.
Knotted Woods has never been exactly the same from one Halloween to the next.
Some years have featured larger walk-through experiences and themed environments. Other years focus more heavily on outdoor scenery, lighting, technology, or experimenting with new ideas.
That constant evolution is part of the fun. Each season is an opportunity to learn something new, improve what worked before, and try something different.
For 2026, Knotted Woods is returning to its outdoor roots with a family-friendly graveyard experience featuring props, lighting, sounds, and a planned walk-through.
